The New York News!

So, as some of you already know, Levi and I leave next Monday to fly to New York! We are partnering up with Global Gates Missions and will be creating promotional material for their "Sifting Weeks", which is what I went on back in March (and have still yet to blog about...).

I believe so much in what this organization does and so when we heard that their number one need (beyond financial support) was video and photo work, we immediately started praying about it. Ultimately, our deciding factor was not whether we felt called to go or not, it was the fact that ALL OF US are called in scripture to GO and to help where we can.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19

And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” Acts 2:44-47

And so, that's why we chose to go. If God gave us these gifts, how can we deny the opportunity to use them in furthering the spread of the gospel?! So if you think about it next week, pray that God will use our time and our talents while we are in New York. And even though this isn't the focus of our trip this time, pray that we would have chances to share Jesus and his gift with the Muslim and Hindu people we come in contact with.

As it gets closer, Levi and I are such a mixture of emotions. It's weird just deciding to do something on your own like this, usually you are going with a group or with your church! We are thankful to have community supporting and praying for us, but it's still kinda crazy just flying somewhere on your own to do this! I can't wait to see how God uses this week, and I can't wait to experience a little bit of NYC with my favorite person!

My Backyard Birthday!

Hello yall! Long time no blog. The past 2.5 weeks have been hectic to say the least! I worked more hours at the boutique, shot 2 weddings, 2 seniors, and had the cd release party and my birthday. Whew. I am about ready for a slow down! This weekend we had my birthday party down at the river and then our backyard. Thank you so much to everyone that came and helped! I feel like FINALLY, at 25 I'm figuring out some things. Like, the people I want to surround myself with! I'm so thankful for my community, yall spoiled me!

And a shout out to Levi, the person behind the whole day! Thank you so much for all your hard work and preparation for me :) I love you!

Ms. Emerald's first trip to the river! I definitely could have stood for it to be a little warmer outside but we made do.

We all came back to the house and cleaned up before the evening portion of the day! Then Levi had the big reveal of my birthday cake! My one birthday request was that I wanted a Riggins themed cake from 2 Tarts Bakery. Levi TOTALLY came through on this one! It was chocolate on the inside, with a chocolate ganache cream between each layer and then iced with buttercream frosting!

Absolute perfection. Oh and the thing in his mouth is this toy that he used to drag around behind him like a baby blanket.

Sarah brought these awesome cupcakes all the way from Conroe!

And the party begins...

Levi grilled all the food for us and it was delish!

Sangriaaaaaaaaaaaa

Group photos are a MUST!

Lol, my poor candles blew out as Cattie carried it over, all but one!

And then, just for good measure....

:D

Jimmy McNeal CD Release Show

Last night was the Jimmy McNeal Band cd release concert! Levi is the drummer and I am SO proud! This night was not just a celebration of the album, it was a celebration of Christ and what he's done for us! I photographed the first few songs of the night and then just sat back and enjoyed it the rest of the time! There's many more pictures where this came from, I had to limit myself :)

If you would like to purchase or preview this album, you can do that here!

Now go check it out!
